AME Prehospital and Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Course

This didactic and hands on course combines a 4 hour basic ultrasound didactic lecture (accessed via online video portal) with an 8 hour hands on skills day to put ultrasound techniques, interpretation, and best practices into use!

Details:

This course is designed for paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practioners and physicians who perform bedside ultrasound for identification and management of acute conditions. The course includes a 4 hour video for didactic training (to complete prior to the in-person training) on ultrasound, how to perform the eFAST, RUSH, cardiac exams, vascular access, and ONSD to identify and manage ICP. The second portion of the course is the 8 hour in-person hands on skills day. The morning session will be hands on stations for each of the exams. The afternoon session will be complex patient scenarios where participants will need to perform the appropriate ultrasound exam, properly interpret abnormal images, and perform appropriate treatments and procedures. All cases are based on realistic patient scenarios.

Course Fee: $395 Early registration - $450 if registration is after june 10, 2026.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR LIVE/INTERACTIVE COURSES

Pre-requisites:  A current Paramedic, Nurse, PA, NP, MD, or DO certification is recommended with at least one year of experience.  Recommended (but not required) current certifications in CPR, ACLS, PALS OR PEPP.  The cost for the course does not differ depending on your certification level.
