Continuing Education Hours Policy

We award continuing education for hours attended in-person or online LIVE instruction. Our courses are approved with the Virginia Office of EMS for continuing education. CE hours can be applied to re-certify your National Registry certification, your Virginia Paramedic certification and/or your BCCTPC FP-C or CCP-C certification.

  • Live instruction: CE hours will be awarded within 14 days of the course completing. In order to receive CE hours you must attend in-person, your ID will be verified day 1 of the program. You must sign BOTH the sign in and sign out form for each course day. It is your responsibility to assure you signed the attendance forms each day. Failure to sign the forms results in the forfeiture of CE hours for the course day and refunds are not available. You must also complete the course survey by the deadline or CE hours will not be awarded.

  • Online LIVE instruction: CE hours will be awarded within 30 days after the course completing. Requirements for online CE hours to be provided include the following: You must attend the program LIVE online and share your video during the entire course. You must interact with polls, breakout sessions, classroom chat boxes, download appropriate handouts, and participate with questions and answers during the main sessions. Additionally, you must assure the course is the focus of your internet activity. Navigation to other webpages, outside of links provided during the course, result in forfeiture of CE hours for the course day. You must complete the daily survey within 12 hours of the class ending. You must also complete the final course survey by the deadline. Failure to complete anything listed above will result in CE hours not be awarded. You are not able to skip completing all the class surveys and request to complete them after the course ends and the deadline has passed, in order to earn the CE hours.

  • Continuing Education Certificates: If you currently hold a critical care certification please request in writing to christina@airmedicalexperts.com a course completion certificate. CE hour content will be delineated on the certificate and can be uploaded to the BCCTPC website for application toward renewal of your FP-C or CCP-C certification.

Payment Policy

  • One day courses: Payment is required 10 days prior to the course date. All payments should be submitted online, if paid personally. If your department is sponsoring your attendance please email christina@airmedicalexperts.com and an invoice can be sent directly to your agency. Special pricing is available for agencies sending 10 or more providers, with the exception of the cadaver lab courses.

  • Multiple day courses (for 2025-2026 courses): Payment is required 15 days prior to the first scheduled day of class. Payment plans are available for the Critical Care Paramedic Course in 4 installment plans. For payment plan students, your deposit for the course is required 15 days prior to the first scheduled day of class. All payments should be submitted online, if paid personally. If your department is sponsoring your attendance please email christina@airmedicalexperts.com and an invoice can be sent directly to your agency. Payment plans are not available to departments, and the full course fee must be paid 15 days or more before day 1 of class. If a student paying personally selects the payment plan, the final course payment is due 45 days prior to the last day of class (lecture). If payment in full is not received by the deadline, you can be dismissed from the class, without a refund and are still responsible to pay the complete course fee as agreed upon in your registration. If the complete course fee is not received by the last day of class then a late fee of $150 will be added to your account. If the balance continues to remain unpaid, after 30 days then a re-occurring late fee of $50 monthly + 10% of the total owed will be compounding monthly until the course fee is paid in full. If a balance is owed for over 90 days, AME retains the right to pursue collections and can forward your case to an attorney to collect the debt.

  • Agency or Department Paid Registration Fees: If your course fee is paid by your employer, continuing education hours are awarded once you meet all CE requirements and after your course fee is paid in full. Employers:

    • Course fees are due no later than 15 days prior to the first day of the course. If you need payment arrangements outside of that timeline you will need to obtain approval from christina@airmedicalexperts.com.

    • Course fees can be paid via check or online payments via credit card

    • Cancellations of student registrations for employer paid tuition have the same policies as listed below.

    • Course fees that are outstanding after the completion of the course will incur the same late fees as listed above, and registration for additional department personal will not be possible until your past balance is paid in full, to include all late fees and interest accrued.

    • For department, agency, military, private services who have hired AME for private courses which are held on site at your location:

      • Cancellation of multiple day courses can be done if cancellation is done in writing to christina@airmedicalexperts.com and the notification is at least 90 days prior to the first day of class. The only fee incurred would be any non-refundable expenses AME already paid (receipts will be provided) will be due immediately upon cancellation if not yet already paid.

      • Cancellation less than 90 days prior to the first day of class will incur a fee of 35% of the total course fee + any non-refundable expenses AME already paid (receipts will be provided) will be due immediately upon cancellation if not yet already paid.

      • Cancellation less than 60 days prior to the first day of class will incur a fee of 60% of the total course fee + any non-refundable expenses AME already paid (receipts will be provided) will be due immediately upon cancellation if not yet already paid.

      • Cancellation less than 50 days prior to the first day of class is not possible, and the total course fee + any non-refundable expenses AME already paid (receipts will be provided) will be due immediately upon cancellation if not yet already paid.

  • Course deferral: If you register for a course and then need to defer enrollment AND you notify AME prior to 60 days before the start of the class, you can apply the submitted course fee to the next class for multiple day courses (EXP: defer fall course enrollment of 2025 to the spring course of 2026, etc). For one day classes you can defer your registration to the next course being offered within the same 12 calendar months. For example: if you enrolled in a course to be held on March 20 and defer enrollment, you have until December 31 of the SAME year to utilize that course fee credit. Deferrals are subject to the courses scheduled by Air Medical Experts LLC during the year. If another course is not offered during that period and you deferred your course attendance, refunds are not offered. You would be eligible to attend the next program that AME schedules. For deferrals outside of the calendar year, you are subject to incur the difference in charges from the year in which you enrolled in the course, to the year of the course you would be attending. All deferral decisions acknowledge that refunds are not given, and you chose the deferral as your option instead. Additionally, if you are not able to attend the NEXT scheduled course (if no other dates are available in the calendar year) then you forfeit your course credit and are not eligible for a refund.

  • For 2025 - course deferrals are not possible unless you obtain approval by christina@airmedicalexperts.com. If you are in the military and receive orders during the course, please reach out and we will work with you on course deferral to the next program.

  • Refunds: If Air Medical Experts, LLC cancels a full course and does not offer a make up course day, a full refund is applied to the original payment method within 7 days of the canceled course (this only applies to single day courses).

    • For multiple day courses: Hybrid course days may have to be rescheduled due to illness or technological requirements of zoom. If this occurs, AME will reschedule the course day and will also record that session, so you can attend live of watch the recording to get the course material. CE hours will be awarded for asynchronous class days, if the original course day had to be rescheduled.

    • In the event the cohort votes to instead watch a previous course’s lecture instead of rescheduling the day, AME will arrange to add videos to the online portal so the students have access to all course material.

    • For multiple day courses (Difficult Airway Cadaver Lab, Ultrasound, Ventilator Course): In-person course days may have to be rescheduled due to illness or weather safety reasons (snow, ice, etc). If this occurs, AME will reschedule the course day and will advise when the make up session will be.

  • Refunds: One day courses: If a student withdraws from a course 30 days prior to the first scheduled day of class, a refund (minus a 20% administration fee) will be applied to the original form of payment within 15 days of the written notification of intent to withdraw from the course. Withdrawal less than 30 days prior to the course and refunds are not offered.

  • Refunds: Multiple day courses: If a paid in full student withdraws from a course at least 60 days prior to the first scheduled day of class, a refund (minus $190 administration fee) will be applied to the original form of payment. Refunds are processed after Air Medical Experts, LLC has received the returning mailing of the course books. In order to receive the complete refund all course materials and books need to be mailed to Air Medical Experts, LLC and must be in new condition (the books must still be contained in the plastic wrapping and not used or damaged in any way). Mailing of the course materials is at the students expense. If the books are not returned or are returned not in new condition then an additional $385 will be deducted from the refund amount.

    • If a student withdraws from a course between 45-60 days prior to the first scheduled day of class, a refund of 50% will be applied to the original form of payment if the full tuition was paid in full and the student mails back the course materials and books in new condition. If the books are not returned an additional $385 will not be returned to the student.

    • If the payment plan was selected the student would not be eligible for a refund of payment #1 or #2 ($1050) but would be eligible for a refund over $1050 paid, as long as the student returns the course materials and books in new condition. If the books are not returned an additional $385 will not be returned to the student. If less than 2 payments were made, there is not a refund offered.

    • If a payment plan or paid in full student withdraws from a course within 45 days prior to the first scheduled day of class refunds are not offered.

  • Military Courses: For programs longer than 10 days, once you confirmed dates, those time frames are held on our calendar for your program. Cancellations of the program less than 45 days before the start of class will incur a 50% cancellation fee of the total course fee. If the base instead reschedules the course for the same fiscal year, and providing the rescheduling is available on the AME calendar, the cancellation fee is waived and the course dates are changed to the new dates. If the course is rescheduled a second time in the same fiscal year, the 50% cancellation fee would apply and would need to be paid prior to scheduling another course. For programs less than 7 days, cancellations can be done up to 30 days prior to day 1 of class, and the cancellation fee is $390 plus any incurred expenses that cannot be refunded (airfare, lodging etc). Cancellations less than 30 days before the start of the course is not possible, and the full course fee is owed. There is a one time rescheduling offered, if selected more than 30 days before the first day of class. There is not a fee to reschedule as long as it is rescheduled within the same calendar year.
