Martinka has developed and presented original material on prehospital management of patients with cardiac assist devices; crush injuries; compartment syndrome; therapeutically induced hypothermia, acute hypothermia, and hyperthermia management and is an expert on pre-hospital difficult airway management. Martinka's passion for education comes from her specialty of teaching critical care paramedicine to those who have never cared for a critical care patient as well as the special operations community. Through her own developed instructional tactics, Martinka makes difficult concepts fun and relatable for EMS providers. Ms. Martinka received her undergraduate education at Harvard University (Cambridge, Massachusetts) and her Master's in Bioethics from Harvard Medical School (Boston, Massachusetts) with academic concentrations, and research in the fields of virology, parasitology, biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, and human genomics analysis as it applies to dynamic disease predisposition. Christina has held paramedic practice certifications and licensure in Arizona, Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. She now resides near Loudoun County, Virginia with her husband and partner Chris, and their 90 lb Czech Shepherd.
