AME Hybrid Critical Care Flight and Ground Paramedic Course with Cadaver Lab + Ultrasound Training (February - May 2025)
Attention Paramedics:
Do you want to increase your knowledge base to become comfortable with the severely sick and injured patients? The patients that we don’t transport everyday, but when they come along you MUST be on your “A-game” to provide them with the best chance for a favorable outcome. Do you want to learn the latest evidenced based medicine and discover the small practice changes that will directly impact patient morbidity and mortality? This course covers the serious conditions that patients have requiring advanced knowledge and skills for transport.
This course is designed to take you from your current Paramedic knowledge to critical care knowledge not only to sit for and pass the exam, but to put into practical application with your daily practice (yes, even 911 medics you can use the majority of this course information in your daily practice).
This course allows us to provide you with the latest evidence based medicine for education. WE have flexible course attendance days -- contact me if you have a conflict with the course dates below -- we can help you out.
The course fee is $1970 and includes: A workbook which follows the powerpoint didactic lectures, the CAKE book which is the homework book to reinforce course concepts, and access to the online portal with videos and handouts as supplementary course materials, a cadaver hands on anatomy lab, and an in-person skills weekend that enhances your understanding and retention of course material. (Please contact me if you need payment options. We will work with you and what you need).
The cadaver portion will be a complete dissection of the thoracic cavity, abdominal cavity, and neck in front of the students . You will see, touch, feel organs, dissect organs and visually see how the lungs respond to ventilation, PEEP, etc. You will see how over filling the king or LMA will cause carotid compression etc. We will dissect out the aorta, heart, liver (well all the organs and great vessels).
We will do a 2-3 hour final question/answer session online, then testing will be done at a testing center chosen by you, close to your place of residence. Onsite testing will not be done.
Pre-requisites: Paramedic, or Nurse certification with recommended one year experience. Current certifications in CPR, ACLS, PALS/PEPP/ENPC. Bring copy of certs with you to first day of class. Paramedic certification must be current and in good standing to sit for the FP-C® or CCP-C® exam. You will schedule your exam directly with the IBSC and AME is not a part of the exam scheduling process.
Leaving the program prior to your completion does not negate the requirement to pay for the program in full. Refunds are not offered if you withdraw from class within 15 days prior to class starting or after class has started. See the policy page for full refund policy information.
