Class will be held from 0730-1700, Registration at 0715.

Morning session will include: 

 Anatomy & Physiology review 

 Tips & Techniques for airway management of trauma & medical patients 

 Rapid Sequence Induction intubation 

 Case scenarios 


Afternoon session will be spent in the cadaver lab: 

 Hands on application including all advanced airway skills 

 Video laryngoscope utilization 

 Needle and surgical cricothyrotomy 

 Needle thoracostomy decompression 

 RSI scenarios 


Upon completion of the airway skills, participants will have the oppor-tunity to practice non-airway related skills including pericardiocentesis and intraosseous needle insertion. Afterwards, instructors and partici-pants will dissect the thoracic cavity, allowing hands on exposure with relevant discussion of anatomy and physiology of the heart, lungs, and major vessels. Course Fee:

$495 (+ 3% processing for credit card payments). All registration fees due by 10 days prior to the course.  Payment received between 10 and 15 days prior will incur a $50 late registration fee.  Unfortunately, payment cannot be accepted onsite or after 10 days prior to the class.

***This course is approved by the BCCTPC as an approved 16 hr review course for recertification of the Flight Paramedic Certification and Critical Care Paramedic Certification***

 This course is specifically designed for the experienced paramedic or emergency nurse who is interested in transitioning to the critical care level and preparing for multiple critical care exams.    


Through hands-on application and in-depth pathophysiology that goes beyond the standard emergency medical knowledge that you have already mastered, this class will be a full review of critical care concepts.  Our team of experienced providers includes flight paramedics, flight nurses, and physicians and we bring this innovative program to you!  The course is based on the latest evidence based medicine and will challenge you with hands on application of all concepts discussed.  You will perform skills including airway management, chest tube insertion, cricothyrotomy, cardiac dissection, hands on scenario management with Ventilators, Intra-aortic Balloon Pump, labs, Central Lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, Neuro ICP monitor, Cardiac devices and more.

 23 CE hours will be awarded upon completion.

Attention Paramedics — New Hybrid Model Released

This course style incorporates online live instruction while still maintaining the interactive skills portion which students love about our courses. The model will be primarily online, LIVE education with interactive breakout groups and polls to keep class interesting.

We will also have 2 in-person skills days. The first skills day focus’ on skills for IABP, hemodynamics, ventilatory management, pediatric transport, central lines, chest tubes, advanced EKG interpretation, and heart and brain dissection.

The second in-person skills day is the difficult airway cadaver lab where we focus on all difficult airway assessment tools and advanced treatments, direct and video laryngoscopy, needle decompression, surgical and needle crics, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, extra-glottic airways, RSI, and anatomy and physiology with the dissection of the thoracic organs.

The final in-person education day is the INTENSIVE review day, prior to the exam. The exam will be the following day, in-person, with the paper/pencil style exam of EITHER the FP-C or CCP-C exam / your choice as to which one you take.

Do you want to increase your knowledge base to become comfortable with the severely sick and injured patients?  The patients that we don’t transport everyday, but when they come along you MUST be on your “A-game” to provide them with the best chance for a favorable outcome.  Do you want to learn the latest evidenced based medicine and discover the small practice changes that will directly impact patient morbidity and mortality?  This course covers the serious conditions that patients have requiring advanced knowledge and skills for transport.   

The course fee is $1525 and includes:

--Airway cadaver lab and anatomy dissection

--Exam fee for Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C) or the Critical Care Paramedic Certification (CCP-C)

--One year membership to the IAFCCP

Attendance Requirement: We do NOT have an attendance requirement for this course, to be able to sit for the exam.  We recommend 100% attendance, but we also acknowledge everyone has alot going on in their life and we work with you.  We ask that if you miss a course day that you find a student in class to assist you with the missed material, then you and I will meet during a lunch (or two depending on the content missed), to make sure you are all squared away on the important content.

Pre-requisites:  Paramedic, or Nurse certification are required with a recommended one year of experience.  Recommend current certifications in CPR, ACLS, PALS OR PEPP.  Please bring a copy of your certifications with you to first day of class.  Paramedic certification must be current and in good standing to sit for the FP-C® or CCP-C® exam. Nurses without a Paramedic certification can arrange testing for the CFRN upon completion on your own.  Your course fee will be $1350 due to waiving the testing fee as you must be a paramedic to sit for the FP-C® or CCP-C®. We do not offer the CCEMT-P exam at this course.
