CHRISTINA A. MARTINKA NRP, CCP-C, FP-C
Christina Martinka is the president and chief instructor of Air Medical Experts LLC; board certified critical care flight paramedic, and a previous rotor wing provider and clinical educator for PHI Air Medical - AirCare 3 in Leesburg, VA. Additionally Ms. Martinka works as an adjunct faculty instructor for the Department of Emergency Health Sciences, at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County Honors College. She has given lectures at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Inova Fairfax Hospital, Children’s National Medical Center, the Critical Care Transport Medicine national conference, the Air Medical Transport national conference, The Journal of Emergency Medical Services - EMS Today national conference, and numerous municipal and federal Fire/EMS agencies and has been invited to lecture overseas. In addition to teaching ACLS, PALS, ITLS, BLS and focused clinical presentations on difficult airway management and intervention, intraosseous infusion, near drowning, emergency obstetrical care in the field, pediatric critical care and neonatal critical care transport. Martinka has developed and presented original material on prehospital management of patients with cardiac assist devices; crush injuries; compartment syndrome; therapeutically induced hypothermia, acute hypothermia and hyperthermia management and is an expert on difficult airway management. Christina is an active member of the International Association of Flight & Critical Care Paramedics. Martinka's passion with education comes from her specialty of teaching critical care paramedicine to those whom have never cared for a critical care patient. Through her own developed instructional tactics Martinka makes difficult concepts fun and easily attainable and applicable to patients. Mrs. Martinka received her education at Harvard University (Cambridge, Massachusetts) and Midwestern University (Glendale, Arizona) with academic concentrations, and research in the fields of virology, parasitology, biochemistry, microbiology and human genomics analysis as it applies to dynamic disease predisposition. Christina has held paramedic practice certifications in Arizona, Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. She now resides in Loudoun County, Virginia with her husband Chris and her 90 lb Czech Shepherd.
